JetBrains Releases WebStorm 3.0 JavaScript Development Tool

JetBrains, a provider of software development productivity tools, has released the latest version of its JavaScript IDE, WebStorm 3.0, which features support for CoffeeScript, Node.js, and other improvements. The WebStorm IDE includes an HTML editor and works on Windows, Mac OS, and Linux platforms.

Here's an overview of the new features in WebStorm 3.0:

  • support for CoffeeScript, a programming language that enhances JavaScript, including navigation, completions, refactoring, error-checking, and other features
  • integration with the JSLint code-checking tool, which enables new inspections to verify code quality
  • support for the Node.js server-side JavaScript environment, which allows you to use WebStorm for editing and debugging server-side JavaScript
  • the JsTestDriver plug-in for JavaScript unit testing
  • Smart Duplicated Code Detector for HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • improvements to FTP/SFTP Sync, including a recursive comparison feature
  • support for Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (TFS) and a revisions graph for Git
  • a streamlined UI across all operating systems
